There are hundreds of "star gazing" apps out there, and which one is the best for you? Some cost .99 others are 2.99. In some ways, the extra few bucks might be worth it.
StarNight is a simple application that uses your gps to pinpoint your location on Earth and show you the surrounding stars. This does not work like other apps where you point the phone in the direction and you see the planets. This just shows the stars, gives you a compass, and you pretty much have to figure it out for yourself. With so many stars out there, this can be confusing and not very efficient for an educational game.
Furthermore, it doesnt do a good job showing constellations, history, 3D images of planets, names or anything. Most of the time when I select a star, it says "no name". This really doesnt stand up against other apps and I wouldnt recommend it.
